The YMCA Sports Center has an expansive, state of the art fitness room which is spread over two floors. The upstairs gallery has a wide array of cardio machines including brand new Precor treadmills, elipticals and adaptive motion trainers. All cardio machines have the Preva® operating system that powers networked fitness on Precor consoles providing exercisers with the personalized, goal-focused fitness and as well as a varied media experience including cable TV, Netflix and Internet. The main floor includes selectorized resistance equipment, plate loaded strength equipment, functional training areas and a wide assortment of benches, racks and free weights.
The most effective form of training is one on one. A trainer will push you beyond your comfort zone while staying in your limits Your personal trainer will custom design a results oriented exercise program that will fit your style and busy schedule.
Our expert and encouraging personal trainers will accompany you every step of the way, inspiring motivation, and creating healthy habits and mental empowerment.
Half-Olympic Swimming Pool
One of the main attractions of the complex is our new expansive swimming facility. It boasts a 3 story high ceiling over it’s 25 meter long half olympic pool with up to 10 lanes for your swimming pleasure. The pool deck includes one men’s sauna and one women’s sauna plus a mixed jacuzzi. During all opening hours there are at least 3 lanes and up to 8 lanes open for lap swim. Water exercise classes are held 1 – 3 times a day, most days of the week. Jerusalem swim teams and water polo teams hold team practice in our pool.
Group Exercise classes are held in a large fully equipped exercise studio with mirrored walls and suspended wood flooring that absorbs impact. Some classes are held in the basketball court and small group classes are held in an adjacent studio.
There are over 50 group exercise classes a week, including: Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Spinning, Barre, HIIT and so much more.
We have the most professional instructors in the city and our classes have been known to make a difference in people’s lives. Class options and studio equipment range from the classic to ontrend such as kettlebells, TRX, equalizers and our exclusive AXEL equipment.
Arriving this spring: Precor Chrono spinning bikes with RPM and Watts monitors.
The bike allows users , among other things, to measure the strength invested in the training session, the number of revolutions per minute (rpm) and the distance covered. During class you have the option to compete with other participants or challenge yourself and try to break your personal record.
